Urchin Tea

On a misty spring evening, I shared a dreamlike tea with Maria, a stranger chosen by fate from a collection of personal stories about liminality. She traveled across two states to meet me for this twilight gathering, where we sipped tea from a handmade urchin-inspired tea set and spoke of uncertainty, creativity, and the beauty of transition.

Textured vessels grounded us in the moment, while the fading light blurred the edges of reality. At the end of our conversation, she was gifted with a shell crown worthy of a mermaid to remind her of our conversations as she moves through her own time of liminality and discovery. I hope she enjoyed this small ceremony to honor the wonder of not quite knowing what comes next.
